In a previous post, I encouraged you to consider an older video series focussed on learning SQL Server 2005 Express. In this post, I’d like to highlight a different video series focused on SQL Server 2008 Express: SQL Server 2008 Express How-To-Guide Series. Here is how I would suggest getting the most out of these videos.
First, the installation video shows installing an older version of SQL Server 2008. So I would instead use the installation video from our “Learning SQL Server” video series here: How to Install SQL Server 2008 R2 Express. Then, if you are using the Express edition to learn, I would recommend watching the following videos in the following order:
If you’re using a paid edition of SQL Server, then you could also consider watching the video on integration services and the one on profiling queries.
You might know that I’m working on a new video series for Learning SQL Server. There will be unique information in this video series, and there will be some overlap with other resources like this. But hopefully, the combination of older and newer video resources, presented in different ways, will aid your overall learning.
